ENGLAND DRAMA TOUR
Day 1 U.S.A.
Depart the United States aboard your overnight trans-Atlantic flight to England. The night will pass quickly, and you will soon be landing in London.
Day 2 London
Welcome to London! After arriving at London’s Heathrow Airport, pass through necessary customs formalities. You will than be met by your Tour Director and transferred to your hotel, with the remainder of the day at leisure to begin exploring on your own. This evening you will be transferred to The George pub in Southwark, on the south side of the Thames for a pub dinner. The George is located near Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. You will return to your hotel after dinner. (B/D)
Day 3 London
A full day guided tour of London including a walking tour of Covent Garden - Theatreland - and a backstage tour of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Visits will also be made to Westminister Abbey and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre Museum. Return to the hotel late afternoon. Early evening supper followed by a performance at one of London’s theatres (roundtrip coach transfers included). (B)
Day 4 London
The morning is free to do as you please in this marvelous city. Around noon you will be transfered to Windsor where you will have a guided tour of Winsor Castle - the largest inhabited castle in the world. Some free time in Windsor for shopping and supper before attending a performance at Windsor’s Theatre Royal - an attractive little theatre and one of the premier suburban theatres for pre-West End runs. You will return to London after the show. (B/D)
Day 5 London/Bristol
You will leave London after breakfast and head westward to the beautiful and historic city of Bath. There will be a drive around the city before you visit the famous Roman Baths. You will have some free time to relax or explore on your own before continuing to Bristol for your overnight stop. Perhaps attend a performance at the Bristol Old Vic. (B/D)
Day 6 Bristol/Stratford upon Avon
You will enjoy a leisurely drive through the Cotswolds en route to Stratford upon Avon. Visit the pretty villages of Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh before you arrive at Stratford, birthplace of perhaps England’s greatest playwright, William Shakespeare. Checkin at your hotel. After dinner, you will attend a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. (B/D)
Day 7 Stratford upon Avon
Today’s morning sightseeing tour will take you on a visit to Shakespeare’s birthplace and Ann Hathaway’s Cottage. This afternoon you will enjoy a guided tour of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre plus an opportunity to view thousands of items from the RSC Collection. Following tour, travel to London. (B/D)
Day 8 London
Free day in London! Enjoy your stay in the Queen's City, where every street corner is a landmark and every building seems to be a monument. (B/D)
Day 9 London
Your afternoon is free to visit London's attractions. Here in London you find the best in theater from traditional to authentic avant--garde, and for the cinemaniac, the latest and finest films. Music lovers may choose from a full and varied program the year round, and for the ballet fanatic, London is studded with offerings in this category. Any time your feet get tired, hop on board a double-decker bus and see London from a whole new point of view. (B/D)
Day 10 London
All day is yours to do as you please in this marvelous city. Visit the Tate Museum. Or just relax for a while in any of London's numerous pubs. (B/D)
Day 11 London/U.S.A.
Today you bid farewell to London as your motor coach transfers you to the airport for your return flight to the United States, taking with you so many wonderful memories of your Drama Tour of England! (B)
