European Opera Experience

Day 1   USA – Berlin
Board your flight to the capital of Germany.

Day 2  Berlin
After arrival in Berlin meet your tour director. He will welcome you and guide you to your waiting motor coach. Transfer to your hotel. Later tonight your welcome dinner will be served at your hotel.  (D)

Day 3  Berlin
Morning city sightseeing tour of Berlin. See the old opera house, the TV tower at Alexander Square and the old historic part around the Gendarmenmarkt.  The afternoon is free to explore Berlin on your own.  Tonight visit your first opera performance.    (B)

Day 4   Berlin (Potsdam excursion)
Departure to Potsdam, located just west of Berlin.  Besides seeing the historic part of Potsdam you will also visit the Palace of Sanssouci.  Return to your hotel in Berlin.  Tonight the visit of your second opera is scheduled.  (B)

Day 5  Berlin - Dresden
Departure to Dresden where a local guide will show you all the highlights of the city.  See the most interesting buildings such as the Palace, Semper Opera House and the Zwinger complex.  Early dinner at your hotel.  After dinner transfer to Dresden to enjoy another operaperformance.   (B,D)

Day 6    Dresden - Prague
Early morning visit of the old town of Meissen, home of the Meissen porcelain manufacturer.  Mid-morning departure takes you across the border into the Czech Republic to its capital, Prague.  Check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.   (B,D)

Day 7  Prague
City sightseeing tour of the old town features Wenceslaus Square. Visit Hradcany Castle and see St. Vitus Cathedral with a beauty that rivals Notre Dame.   Also see the Strahov Monastery with its astronomical clock, the lovely bridges over the Vltava River and Charles University, the oldest in Europe.  In the afternoon you might want to shop for Bohemian crystal.  Tonight’s highlight is your visit to one of Prague’s opera houses. (B)

Day 8   Prague (Karlstejn Castle Excursion)

Half day excursion to Karlstejn Castle. Your tour leads along the river Moldavia and Berounka to theBohemian castle of Karlstejn, built in the 14th century by emperor Charles IV to protect the treasures ofhis kingdom. After your castle visit return to Prague for your final opera performance. (B)

Day 9  Prague – USA
This morning board your motor coach for your transfer to the airport for your return flight to the U.S. (B)
